The NextGen Council Launches Season 5 of ‘The Legacy Life’
The NextGen Council is proud to announce the re-launching of its podcast, “The Legacy Life.” First launched in 2021, the podcast hosts legacy professionals at all stages of their careers and from all over the world to tell us their stories, provide career advice, and answer the question of “what does a career in runoff insurance or reinsurance actually look like?”
The podcast is now being hosted by NextGen Council Members Joel Ridd and David Silvers. The first episode of Season 5 was released on March 24, featuring former Legacy Life host and current AIRROC Executive Director, Katie Reynolds. Katie provides a fascinating story of her path from a New Hampshire consumer bankruptcy attorney to an established professional in the reinsurance and legacy space.
The second episode was released on April 8th, 2026, featuring the 2025 Trish Getty Scholarship winner, Samit Bin Alam. Attendees at the October 2025 Legacy Transactions & Networking Forum had the opportunity to hear Samit’s story. We checked back in with him recently to learn more about Samit and his plans for the future. It was a fascinating interview, and Samit is a prime example of the kind of young professional that the NextGen Council supports.
