The Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Run-Off Companies (AIRROC) has selected Paul Brockman, Enstar Group’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Claims Officer, as the recipient of their annual “Person of the Year” award for 2023. This is the 19th year that AIRROC has bestowed this annual award.
The award was announced on October 16 at AIRROC’s annual Legacy Transactions Forum in Jersey City, New Jersey. This award is presented each year to recognize individuals who have had a significant impact on the run-off industry.
Paul Brockman has served with Enstar Group for 11 years. He was appointed as Enstar’s Chief Operating Officer in March 2023 in addition to his role as Chief Claims Officer, a position he has held since September 2020. He previously served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Enstar (US) Inc. (“Enstar US”) from July 2016 to September 2020. Prior to that, he was Chief Operating Officer of Enstar (US) Inc. from 2014-2016, and from 2012-2014, he served as Senior Vice President, Head of Commutations in the US. Before joining Enstar, he worked as Head of Reinsurance for Resolute Management Services UK Ltd. and prior to that at Equitas.
In presenting the award, Carolyn Fahey, the Executive Director of AIRROC, acknowledged Paul’s long-standing commitment to the legacy space, and to AIRROC. Paul’s professionalism and ability to be reasonable, fair and transparent have benefited the legacy space and Enstar. He has successfully completed countless legacy transactions to the mutual benefit of all parties. The award was created so that AIRROC can recognize significant impacts in the legacy insurance sector, Paul embodies all of the principles behind it.
