When I first became involved with AIRROC in 2018, I never could have imagined the path it would lead me down, or how deeply the organization would shape my career. From founding the NextGen Council to serving on the Board of Directors, AIRROC has been a professional home. It has introduced me to mentors, collaborators, and friends who are not only invested in their own companies, but in the future of the legacy insurance and reinsurance space as a whole.
Stepping into the role of Executive Director is both a professional milestone and a personal honor. I am grateful to be handed the baton at a moment of incredible opportunity for AIRROC, and I am committed to carrying it forward with energy, intention, and a clear vision for what comes next.
Our Foundation Is Strong
AIRROC’s strength has always been its ability to bring people together. We are a trusted, neutral forum for transactions. Our events and educational offerings are known for their quality. Our brand carries weight in the industry, and our member relationships run deep. Perhaps most importantly, we benefit from a passionate community of volunteers and a leadership pipeline that ensures we are always bringing new voices to the table. These qualities not only make AIRROC successful, they also make it resilient. And in a constantly changing market, resilience is key.
Where We Go Next: Expand. Connect. Innovate.
To build on our foundation, AIRROC must continue to evolve, and we have already laid the groundwork to do just that. In 2015, AIRROC was at a crossroads. We could have remained focused solely on commutations, but we chose to grow, adapt, and step into a leadership role in the broader legacy space. By 2024, we had made tremendous progress, but with an expanded mission and limited resources, we found ourselves facing a new challenge: what comes next?
To answer those questions, we came together again. Our most recent strategy session in the summer of 2024 was a collaborative effort, reaffirming AIRROC’s ambition and highlighting the power of shared insight in defining our next chapter. What emerged from those discussions, and what forms the core of my vision, are three priorities: growth, engagement, and innovation.
First, we must foster a growth mentality. As the legacy space expands, AIRROC’s reach should expand with it. That means engaging not only traditional members, but also carriers with legacy portfolios, TPAs, insurtechs, and other aligned stakeholders who can benefit from our work and contribute to our mission.
Second, we will focus on enhancing engagement. Our member and partner relationships are one of our greatest assets. I want to deepen those connections through more consistent, high-value touch points: strategic check-ins, member and partner spotlights, and co-branded initiatives that foster shared success. Just as important is sustaining the momentum of AIRROC NextGen. Over the past few years, these rising professionals have become integral to our programming and events. By offering meaningful opportunities for professional development and networking, we can help shape the next generation of leaders and ensure the strength of our industry well into the future.
Third, we will evolve and modernize our services. That includes adopting digital tools that streamline content delivery, improve the member experience, and help us measure the tangible value AIRROC delivers.
Why Now?
The legacy sector is changing. Deals are evolving. Regulatory landscapes are shifting. Yet AIRROC remains a steady and strategic partner. We are uniquely positioned to help members navigate this industry transformation by offering consistent value, relevant insights, and opportunities to connect with the right people at the right time.
As someone who has been closely involved with this organization for years and who believes deeply in its mission, I am ready to lead AIRROC into its next chapter. Together, we can continue to grow, connect, and innovate, ensuring that AIRROC remains not just relevant, but essential, in the years ahead.
I am honored to be part of this journey with all of you. Let’s build the future of legacy together.
