A very special award was presented at the 2025 AIRROC Legacy Transactions & Networking Forum, one as unique as its recipient. Carolyn Fahey was the face of AIRROC for more than a decade. Her steady leadership, her vision, and her genuine care for this organization shaped AIRROC into what it is today: a vibrant and thriving legacy community. When the Executive Committee began discussing how to recognize her extraordinary service, it was quickly realized that no existing award could capture the scope of her impact. So, AIRROC created one, an honor wholly her own, to celebrate a tenure defined by growth, grace, and an unwavering commitment to our mission.
Carolyn led AIRROC as Executive Director for 13 years, guiding the organization through a period of remarkable expansion. Under her leadership, AIRROC’s membership grew, our programs multiplied, and our reputation within the legacy insurance and reinsurance sector reached new heights. She launched initiatives like the CLP designation and the NextGen program, modernized our communications, and built partnerships that continue to strengthen our industry.
When the pandemic threatened to halt everything, Carolyn adapted, quickly, creatively, and fearlessly. She turned uncertainty into opportunity, finding new ways to connect and educate our members when we needed it most.
But beyond her accomplishments, what truly defines Carolyn’s legacy is her character. She led with empathy, diplomacy, and quiet determination. She brought people together, listened deeply, and made everyone, from board members to first-time attendees, feel that their voice mattered. She is a source of inspiration as evidenced by remarks and reflections from past and present board members and colleagues on her incredible contributions and lasting impressions. https://www.airrocupdate.org/legacy-in-legacy.
With this award, we celebrate Carolyn and the standard she set: thoughtful leadership, meaningful connection, and unwavering dedication to AIRROC’s success. We also recognize Carolyn’s distinguished service and lasting impact on AIRROC and the legacy community. Thank you, Carolyn, for everything you have done for this organization.
